Currently (9th Jan 2026) there's a problem with the Medilink web server (being investigated).
This is causing a problem when Word opens where the Medilink WordAddIn update check will fail, which then in turn also causes Medilink letter creation to stall/fail.
This only affects users that have the WordAddIn installed.
Solution:
Open Word
File -> Options
Add-ins
Manage: COM Add-ins -> Go
Untick Medilink.Tools.WordAddIn
OK
Close Word
