In 2023, Medicare started tightening up its requirements regards patients' assignment of benefits for bulk billing.

Typically this is done via printing the DBAA/DB4 form when billing for the patient to sign.
You can enable this by default via Accounting Screen -> File Menu -> Accounting Setup -> Bulk Billing -> Print DB Form -> 1 Copies.

For telehealth, however, the patient is not present, so this does not work. In this case, the requirement is an email. Details here:

You can create a new email for the patient by clicking their email address in the Accounting Screen (Patient Details section).


Currently, there is no built-in template for emailing the patient a request for assignment of benefit. We are looking to add this functionality soon.
