In December 2021 BUPA is changing the way they do their fee schedules/agreements and have introduced a known gap option.

You will likely have received an email from them explaining the change, you can read more on their website here:

https://www.bupa.com.au/medical-gap-scheme

This means you will be able to charge patients a gap amount of up to $500 on top of their known gap rates.

Alternatively you can continue using their no gap rate (i.e. you cannot charge the patient) - this is a higher rate than the known gap rate.

So you will need to determine which scheme or agreement is right for you, and contact BUPA to ensure it is set correctly.

Afterwards you should update your fees. Open the Medilink Launcher, click Login (but don't start Medilink as usual), then click Update, and Fees. Next through the installer. In the Fee Import Settings screen either tick or untick BUPA Known Gap depending.

If you elect the known gap option you must manually add the gap you wish to charge on to one or more of the procedures at the time of billing. For example, simply adding $500 to the amount of the first procedure. You must manually do this.
