We are increasingly being asked about New Outlook and can practices switch to it.
Long story short, for now, we recommend continuing to use Classic Outlook if you rely on Medilink's email integration.
It's important to understand that New Outlook is fundamentally different from Classic Outlook.
Rather than being a traditional Windows desktop application, it is primarily a web-based client with a much more limited integration interface for third-party applications such as Medilink.
While Microsoft has exposed some MAPI functionality, important features such as creating emails with attachments (for example, PDFs) are not currently available. This limits what Medilink can do when sending emails via New Outlook.
We're also developing native email support for Microsoft 365 and Google accounts using their supported REST and SMTP APIs. Once available, Medilink will be able to send emails directly without requiring Outlook to be installed. During the initial setup, you'll likely be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft or Google account to authorise access.
