At 8pm AEDT Tuesday 3rd of Feb 2026, ADHA will be upgrading PRODA servers to force the use of TLS* 1.2 / 1.3 and not 1.0 / 1.1.
This potentially impacts Medicare Online, HI Numbers, My Health Record, and PRODA more broadly.
Medilink users who have Windows 10 or 11 should not be impacted as these operating systems will automatically use TLS 1.2+ by default.
Windows 7 and 8 should also be ok if they have had updates in the past. However, it is possible that they may be stuck on a very old version that doesn't contain this newer protocol, in which case they will get errors when using HI Numbers or MHR etc., something along the lines of:
"The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel."
The only way to resolve this would be to get an update to your operating system - more info below:
Note that operating system updates are outside of the scope Medilink support.
