Microsoft Teams provides a simple way to facilitate Telehealth with optional Transcription.
Patients do not need a Microsoft Account, they can join these meetings without one, and if Teams app not installed on their mobile it can still be viewed via Browser.
Instructions below. We suggest testing it with a member of staff to practice.
Open Medilink DHR (Clinical) and bring up the Patient.
Open Teams and go to your Calendar.
Click the scheduled Meeting, or click Meet Now.
Click Get a link to share.
Click Copy meeting link (two rectangles to right of the link).
Start meeting and minimize it.
Switch to Medilink DHR.
Click Send SMS. (This will come from a random/non callable number to keep your mobile private.)
Paste (CTRL+V) the link and Send.
Optional: Create a new Consult Note or Letter in Medilink to be ready to record details.
Switch back to Meeting to wait for Patient to join.
Optional: Teams Transcription can be enabled via ... More -> Record and transcript -> Start transcription, which after the Meeting can be Copied (CTRL+C) and Pasted (CTRL+V) in to Medilink Consult Note / Letter.
