Since 2014 R2, by default, Medilink will not send service text to Medicare, unless:
You have one of a dozen or so specific keywords (things like LEFT/RIGHT which would be required).
Or
You have modified the description of an item from the default description.
If you want to force service text send to occur anyway, please tick the Send Service Text option in the Billing screens.
You will notice that in 2023 R1 versions this postfixes the following text to the description:
SENDSERVTEXT
This is a flag for the system to make sure that the service text (description) is sent. It will show in reports and standard printouts, however, the actual "SENDSERVTEXT" bit will be filtered out when sent to Medicare Online.
The setting that performs this can be disabled via INI file only (at time of writing):
