In March 2021 a number of practices reported receiving the following error message at random when printing (predominately Medicare Online printing):

Exception occurred: System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The operation completed successfully

This is very much an unexpected error message as you can probably guess given that it says "the operation completed successfully".

This seems to have been caused by a recent Microsoft Windows Update and/or printer driver updates. As a quick fix you may have some success in rolling back these updates or using an alternate printer (such as a PDF printer).

Medilink has provided a BETA UPDATE with a workaround that will handle this kind of 'successful' printing. It is still undergoing testing before becoming a full update, but is available here:

1. Log on to your Medilink Server as an Administrator level user.

2. Download:

http://www.medilink.com.au/internaldev/MedilinkUpdate.EXE.BETA

3. Rename MedilinkUpdate.EXE.BETA -> MedilinkUpdate.EXE

4. Run MedilinkUpdate.EXE

5. Next through all prompts using defaults.

6. Ensure Medilink works as anticipated on startup.

7. Run Medilink on Workstations, you should be prompted to install the Update.

Alternatively please book an update with us here (include in comments that you need the BETA UPDATE):
